Condition/Treatment
This autograph by church scholar Albertus Magnus (Albert the Great) was comparatively slightly damaged when the Historic Archives of the City of Cologne collapsed on March 3, 2009. While the text-block from parchment was well protected by the wooden boards, the parchment spine suffered several tears. Also the binding had been damaged.
It was stabilized and reattached to the boards. The destroyed parchment spine was replaced by a piece of goat leather individually dyed in red colour.
